Yes. We use official IANA timezone data that includes DST rules for every timezone. When DST transitions occur (for example 'spring forward' in March or 'fall back' in November), the calculator adjusts meeting times automatically. This prevents the common mistake of scheduling a meeting at the wrong hour across a DST change.

Meeting times shift when one or more of the timezones changes for daylight saving time. The gap between New York (EST/EDT) and London (GMT/BST) is 5 hours for most of the year but 4 hours for the weeks when one region has switched and the other has not. The calculator recomputes for the exact date you choose, so it reflects the rules in force on that day.

You can set work hours per participant. The default is 09:00–17:00, but any range works, including cross-midnight hours such as 22:00–06:00 for night shifts. To see slots beyond those hours, turn on 'Show times outside work hours'.

Yes. Every suggested slot has an “Add to calendar” button with prefilled links for Google Calendar and Outlook, plus an .ics download that works with Apple Calendar and any other standards-compliant client. The event is created in UTC, so it lands at the right local time for whoever opens it.

Yes. The URL updates automatically with every setting, including participant names, so anyone opening the link sees the same result without reconfiguring anything. The Share section also has a 'Copy text summary' button that produces a plain-text list of every option with each person's local time, ready to paste into Slack or email.

For the US East Coast (EST/EDT) and Central Europe (CET/CEST), the usable overlap is typically 08:00–11:00 US Eastern, which is 14:00–17:00 Central European. For the US West Coast (PST/PDT) and Europe the window is much narrower: roughly 08:00–09:00 Pacific, which is 17:00–18:00 Central European. Use the calculator for the exact window given your own work hours and date.

No overlap means the work hours you entered never coincide. US Pacific 09:00–17:00 and India 09:00–17:00 have effectively zero overlap because the two zones sit about 12.5 hours apart. Widening work hours, shortening the meeting, or turning on 'Show times outside work hours' will usually surface something workable.

It uses the official IANA timezone database — the same source operating systems rely on — through the Luxon library, and it evaluates each date individually rather than applying a fixed offset. That means DST transitions, half-hour and quarter-hour offsets, and timezone rule changes are all handled correctly.

No. Every calculation runs in your browser. We do not store timezone selections, work hours, participant names, or results. The one exception is deliberate: a share link encodes your inputs in the URL, so anyone you send that link to can read them.

Yes, up to ten. Use the “Add participant” button to include more people, each with their own timezone and work hours. With three or more participants the calculator switches to a fairness-first ranking so that no single person is repeatedly given the very early or very late slot.

Each candidate slot gets a score from 0 to 100. The worst-affected participant carries 40% of the weight, average convenience across everyone 30%, avoiding hours outside the working day 20%, and preferring weekdays the remaining 10%. Weighting the worst case most heavily is what stops the algorithm from picking a slot that is perfect for four people and brutal for the fifth.

Yes. The layout is mobile-first, with touch-sized inputs and a searchable timezone picker that matches on city, country or abbreviation. There is no app to install and no signup.
